CAMERATA ATLÂNTICA
A musical project created by Venezuelan violinist Ana Beatriz Manzanilla, its artistic director. Based on 11 professional string musicians, the Camerata has the flexibility to expand to a broader line-up depending on the repertoire to be performed.
After its first concert in November 2013, the Camerata Atlântica has performed consecutively with great success at the Music Days since 2014 at the Belém Cultural Centre, at the Leiria Music Festival, at the University of Lisbon’s Festival Experience, at the Gulbenkian Foundation’s Grand Auditorium as part of the 2014 Young Musicians Awards, the Gulbenkian Music Season 2015-16 with trumpeter Pacho Flores, the Gulbenkian Foundation Summer Garden Festival 2018 and EGEAC’s Christmas in Lisbon in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020, the Joaquim Benite Theatre Season 2019 and 2021, the Arts Festival 2019, the Music in São Roque Season 2019 and the Festival ao Largo 2020. mor info…
Jill Lawson
Luso-American pianist Jill Lawson was born in Mexico in 1974 and grew up in Belgium. She is currently based in Portugal.
Jill learned how to read music before she learned the alphabet. Today she speaks five languages fluently, but still prefers to communicate through music rather than through words. Her music provides her with a much richer vocabulary, and it lies closer to her heart. Her life experiences in the last few years have helped to further enrich her range of interpretation abilities. She feels that her way of playing has become more natural, and because of this when performing she feels almost at one with the public.
Cascais MPQ
Moscow Piano Quartet (MPQ) was created in 1989 on the initiative of Alexei Eremine and Guenrikh Elessine. Its first concert took place on 25 January 1990 at the Iermolova House-Museum in Moscow. In the same city, he performed at the ‘Dekabrskie Vetcherá’ (‘December Nights’) Festival, directed by Sviatoslav Richter. The influence of the great master Valentin Berlinski (cellist of the Borodine Quartet) is noteworthy, especially in terms of careful tuning, rich sonorities and in-depth knowledge of the works played.
